Cutting Saddle

A cutting saddle is a specialized saddle.  The rider, during competition, is a spectator whose job is to stay on the horse.  Close contact is important.  The horse is busy separating a cow or calf from the heard.  The cutting saddle is designed to keep the rider out of the way of the horse.  The rider must be skilled to stay aboard.
